There is no single answer, and the US certified television dataset is explicit about why: measured on-mode power tracks screen size. It averages 31.7 W across the 30-to-34-inch sets in that dataset, 107.5 W across the 54-to-66-inch class most households own, and 171.2 W across sets of 74 inches and larger.
Any of those sits far inside the continuous output of every machine in this library, so the question is never whether a power station runs a television — it is for how long. Against the three records whose published fields allow the division, a 55-to-65-inch set runs 2.1 h on the smallest and 14 h on the largest.

The spread inside a single size band is why this page gives you four numbers instead of one. Sixty-five sets of roughly the same size, taken under the same test procedure, still span nearly a factor of two. The record’s own note names the variable: picture brightness and the kind of content playing, not the temperature of the room. So treat the band as a starting point and your own set as somewhere inside it — and if you still have the manual, its rating plate beats every figure on this page.
Every annual figure you have read assumes five hours a day
A television’s energy label is not an observation of your living room. The US Department of Energy’s test procedure for televisions — 10 CFR 430, Appendix H — fixes the usage pattern that turns a bench measurement into a yearly number: 5 h a day in on mode and 19 h a day in standby. Every “kWh per year” anyone quotes for a television carries that assumption inside it, whether or not the page says so.
